“It is a shame that Asian countries could not generate global unicorns such
as GFAM”, I felt when I was watching the surge of stack prices in a
sales branch of Nomura Securities in Japan. Though I could not speak English at all at that time…eventually,
this feeling drove me to pursue my overseas MBA to become a global
entrepreneur.
During my MBA In Hong Kong, where ambitious business persons gather across Asia, I recognized the growing
aspirations of Asian companies to expand overseas.
I have experienced various market entry projects as an intern in a local consulting firm and a freelancing
consultant in Hong Kong, and later as a consultant in McKinsey & Company Tokyo
office in Tokyo.
Through engaging in market entry projects, what I found were.. For successful market entry, both appropriate
entry strategy and new customer acquisition is required, but not many
consulting firms / agencies provide both.
I started to think that this is what I can do, what overseas clients need, and what I want to do.
In 2024, after a wonderful three years experience at McKinsey, I decided to bet my 30-40s on this field.
I started the market entry support business as an individual business owner in August 2024, and established a
corporate entity; SATOCHU Corporation on 25th December 2024, to support
overseas companies’ market entry into Japan, while growing my team members to become global entrepreneurs.
